Disseminated peritoneal leiomyomatosis after laparoscopic surgery: A report of two cases

Parasitic peritoneal leiomyomatosis (PL) and disseminated (DPL) are rare medical conditions; however, cases have been widely reported in recent years. Case1: A 43-year-old woman presented at our hospital, eight years after a laparoscopic myomectomy, with anemia uterine tumor. Magnetic resonance imaging computed tomography (CT) scans revealed mass, several other pelvic masses, subcutaneous mass the umbilicus. Endometrial stromal sarcoma was suspected, she underwent an open laparotomy to remove masses. The tumors were found attached vesicouterine peritoneum. Upon rapid intraoperative pathological examination, tumor appeared benign. She total hysterectomy resection surgery. Histopathologic examination that masses Estrogen Receptor- Progesterone Receptors-positive leiomyomas. Case2: 46-year-old about seven supracervical hysterectomy, stomach pain. CT sigmoid colon mass. leiomyoma. Efforts should be taken prevent iatrogenic leiomyomas dissemination; whenever possible, morcellation done containment bag. Considering each patient's history of gynecologic surgery, we believe these DPL following myomectomy.
